Fair Oaks Ranch
Fair Oaks is a collection of subdivisions about 10 miles south of Boerne. It includesSetterfeld Estates, Trailside, and Front Gate. What this accomplishes is its own, self-contained small town vibe. While fair oaks has been around for about 30 years, it’s still one of the hottest neighborhoods in the San Antonio region, thanks to its proximity to the city and outdoor recreation, and to its access to the vaunted Boerne ISD. It’s also a draw for its price range. You can find homes from the mid-$250Ks to above $600,000.
Canyon Springs is another collection of subdivisions, this time just north of the San Antonio city limits. Neighborhoods include San Miguel, The Estates, The Trails, The Reserve, The Waters, The Links, The Villas, The Coves, The Enclave, The Bluffs, The Boulders, and The Summit. Canyon Springs’ easy access to the city and the waterfront are major draws, but so is the fact that to the north, development slows, putting the subdivision’s neighborhoods in that sweet spot between metro living and natural ease. Homes typically start in the low-to-mid $200Ks.
A third collection of subdivisions is Alamo Ranch. In the northwestern end of San Antonio, this set of neighborhoods includes The Trails, The Hills, Santa Maria, The Terraces, The Preserve, and The Summit. By most measures, Alamo ranch is the fastest-growing neighborhood in the city. It’s easy to see why ‒‒ Hill Country living still within city limits is a ajor draw. So is the range of home prices. They start below $200,000 and move upwards to past $600,000.
