Located in southwest Texas, Frio County, (county seat Pearsall,) covers a 1,134 square mile area encompassing eight cities and towns, including the county seat. Frio County is about fifty miles southwest of San Antonio, and seventy miles east of the border with Mexico at Eagle Pass, and was formed in the mid-nineteenth century from portions of Bexar, Atascosa and Uvalde counties.
